![]() Once you have all 20 and approach the central pad, the quest will enable you being able to charge the portal. You don't get the option to power it up until you get those Core Fragments. You can cheese the Mama Poptop by using Platforms and the like to stay over the Mama and firing down using a bow, pistol, rifle, etc or using directional melee like Shortswords, Daggers, and best of all Spears. You'll find it in a chamber full of Poptops, little hostile creatures that love to sing and eat with their hairline ig. Thankfully, this is because this particular enemy isn't actually a "boss" per se. In Starbound's case, the original main storyline was going to be WAY too intensive, but they changed it to the mainline style.
